Marco Silva has ruled out recruiting a new right-back this month after Cyrus Christie left the club.

During the summer transfer window, Silva has indicated that he is keen to sign a right-back with a “similar profile” to Kenny Tete, who suffered a hamstring injury early in the season.

Fulham was reportedly close to signing US right-back Reggie Cannon from Boavista, however, the deal fell apart on deadline day.

Silva currently has Tete and Denis Odoi as right-handed defenders and said he was happy with his current options.

“The circumstances have changed,” he said. “Right now we have two right-backs. If for some reason I need another one, Bobby De Cordova-Reid can also handle the situation very well. He can help the team with his profile. am really happy to have a player like Bobby. He has played in so many positions sometimes it is difficult for him but he can help the team in many positions. If something happens it is another player who can play there. I’m really comfortable with the solutions we have at the back. “

Silva also hasn’t ruled out recruiting this month.

“Let’s see what we can do. As I always say, the bottom line is (who) is inside our football club, the players who keep us high and win games. Of course we are always open to improve something.

“One player is gone on loan, it is possible that others will leave the club. If that happens we will have to replace them, it is possible. But let’s see. The main thing for my players is to stay focused on Bristol, and then Birmingham. Always like that. “
