Retired County Emergency Management Coordinator

At Tuesday’s meeting of Fremont County commissioners, the council agreed to the intention to step down from Vonda Huish, the county’s emergency management coordinator. The retirement will be accepted after the selection and training of a successful candidate to replace Huish. Advertising will begin immediately for the position.

In other actions during the meeting:

• The Board approved a letter of support for the Table Mountain Living Community to obtain USDA grant/loan funding for the facility to be located on City of Lander property near the hospital. SageWest Health Care and Lander Golf Course. The center will include 22 assisted living units and 18 memory care units.

• The Board approved a quote from Communications Technologies, Inc. in the amount of $58,041 for a paging system for Hudson and Lysite using funds from the American Rescue Plan Act.

• The Commission accepted the lowest bid from Olson’s Auto Body & Towing in the amount of $1,761.70 to repair damage to the Emergency Management Coordinator’s vehicle due to a hit-and-run accident .

• The Wilkinson Subdivision has been approved, a two-lot subdivision located just off North Hidden Valley Road.

• A waiver request was approved for Lot 4A of the Wind River Estates Subdivision to be less than the one acre minimum, then the Wind River Drift Estates Subdivision, Lot 4 and 5 Re-flat was approved. The subdivision is located south of the Riverton Country Club on the edge of the Wind River.

• The Orchard Hill Subdivision has been approved, a five lot single subdivision located approximately 1.5 miles northwest of Lander near Highway 287 and Longview Lane.

• Lander Ranchettes West Subdivision Vacation of Tract 2C was approved allowing an adjacent landowner to purchase and then vacate the lot and merge with other farmland he owns in the county.
