How can organizations better tackle diversity issues
What are the best strategies for companies to improve diversity and inclusion in their organizations?
This week’s episode of Catering company The “A Deeper Dive” podcast features James Pogue, CEO of JP Enterprises, a Dallas-based leadership consulting firm.
Pogue is a military veteran who has spent nearly a decade in higher education focusing on diversity and inclusion and has since expanded his work to include multigenerational leadership to help businesses and colleges recruit and retain young people. It recently partnered with the Women’s Foodservice Forum to develop a series aimed at attracting and retaining talent in the workplace.
Diversity has been a major issue in large businesses over the past year – many restaurant chains, including McDonald’s and Yum Brands, have taken big steps to improve diversity in their own organizations.
Pogue addresses issues related to diversity within management teams. He says organizations need to focus on recruiting and developing talent who can meet their specific organizational challenges, choosing the right people based on their ideas and not necessarily their background.
