Female Charitable Society loan closet for repairs October 12-18 – Eagle News Online
BALDWINSVILLE – The Female Charitable Society’s medical loan closet on River Street will be closed Tuesday, October 12 through Monday, October 18, while the parking lot is rebuilt. The closure will be in place for 10 River St. as well as 12-14 River St. Both properties are used for the closet loan program.
The facility will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, October 11, when it will close and will not reopen until normal hours resume at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19.
More than 3,000 pieces of equipment are included in the program, which loans home medical equipment to any resident of the Baldwinsville Central School District. The material is available free of charge and can be kept for as long as needed, after which it is returned to be made available to others.
Secure parking right next to the building is essential while equipment is moved in and out. After more than two decades of use by cars, vans, construction equipment and even fire trucks, the existing lot is in need of a complete rebuild.
Female Charitable Society President Bonnie Kisselstein said it is thanks to the generosity of the Baldwinsville community that the organization has continued to serve others for the past 204 years. The Closet Loan Program relies on volunteers to both maintain its hours of operation and keep the equipment in good working order. Volunteers are always welcome.
