The Catalan giants are desperate for a quality striker in the first-team setup following Sergio Aguero’s dismissal due to heart disease. The Argentine is sidelined indefinitely, while Martin Braithwaite is also unavailable. Thus, Luuk de Jong, who inspires no confidence since his arrival on loan from Sevilla, remains the only recognized striker of the first team.

It’s no surprise, then, that Barcelona are eager to sign a striker in the January transfer window, with Adeyemi being one of the options being considered. However, the 19-year-old Germany international could be above Barcelona’s means this winter, with the player also not drawn to the sporting project.

Hence the Blaugrana may have to turn their attention to other alternatives, with Edinson Cavani, Alexandre Lacazette and Raheem Sterling also on their list of possible reinforcements for the January window. So it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will make their choice for Adeyemi or instead look to another striker.
